name: Skywork Document
description: "Skywork Document (skywork) - Use for ANY task producing a document output. Generates professional documents in docx, pdf, markdown, and html. Capabilities: (1) Create new documents on any topic - reports, proposals, blogs, papers, fiction, memos, letters, contracts, plans, resumes, research summaries, study notes; (2) Base documents on user's uploaded files - rewrite resumes, summarize papers, expand outlines, translate; (3) Auto web search for up-to-date content. Trigger when users ask for a 'document'/'docx' OR when intent implies document output. If output is longer than a short answer and benefits from structure/formatting, default to this skill. Do NOT use for short plain-text answers, code files, small notes, ad-hoc Q&A, or casual chat. Trigger keywords include: 'write a report', 'draft a proposal', '写报告', '帮我写一篇', 'レポートを作って', '보고서 써줘', 'rédiger un document', 'redactar un informe', 'Bericht erstellen', 'написать документ', 'كتابة تقرير', 'scrivere un documento'."

# Doc — Professional Document Generator

Generate professional, beautifully formatted documents by calling the Skywork Office Doc API.

---

## Prerequisites

### API Key Configuration (Required First)
This skill requires a **SKYWORK_API_KEY** to be configured before use.

If you don't have an API key yet, please visit:
**https://skywork.ai**

For detailed setup instructions, see:
[references/apikey-fetch.md](references/apikey-fetch.md)

---

## Privacy & Remote Calls (Read Before Use)

- **Remote upload & processing**: This skill uploads user-provided files and sends the full, verbatim user request to the Skywork service. Avoid sensitive or confidential content unless you trust the remote service and its data handling policies.
- **Web search**: Any web search mentioned in this skill is performed by the **server-side** Skywork Doc API, not locally by these scripts.

---

## Workflow

### Step 0: Intent Recognition (CRITICAL - Do This First)

**Before calling any script, analyze the user's request and determine**:

1. **Does the user provide reference files, or imply that certain files are needed to proceed with the writing task?**
   - Look for file paths, attachments, or mentions like "based on this PDF", "use the uploaded document". If you gathered info beforehand (e.g., web search, other tools) that would help the writing task, save it to disk as files and pass them as reference files in Step 1.
   - If YES: find/extract file paths → proceed to Step 1
   - If NO: skip to Step 2

2. **What language should the output be in?**
   - Analyze the user's request language or explicit requirement. If unspecified, infer from the user's language or the language used in uploaded files.
   - Set `--language` parameter: `English`, `中文简体`, etc.
   - Default: `English`

3. **What format does the user want?**
   -

# Skywork API Key Setup Guide

## SKYWORK_API_KEY Not Configured

When the `SKYWORK_API_KEY` environment variable is not set, follow these steps:

### 1. Get API Key

Visit the Skywork website and sign in to your account:

**https://skywork.ai**

- Log in with your Skywork account
- Open account / Settings / API Key (**https://skywork.ai/?openApiKeySetting=1**)
- Create or copy your **API key**

If your organization uses a separate console or test environment, use the URL and credentials your team provides.

### 2. Configure OpenClaw

Edit the OpenClaw configuration file: `~/.openclaw/openclaw.json`

In current OpenClaw, Skywork skills store the key under `skills.entries.<Skill Name>.apiKey` (not under `env`).
OpenClaw will inject this value into the skill's `SKYWORK_API_KEY` environment when `primaryEnv` matches.
Add or merge the following structure (adjust the skill name to match the installed skill):

```json
{
  "skills": {
    "entries": {
      "Skywork Document": {
        "enabled": true,
        "apiKey": "your_actual_skywork_api_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

Replace `"your_actual_skywork_api_key_here"` with your real key.

For multiple Skywork skills, repeat the same `apiKey` field on each skill entry.

### 3. Configure Claude Code

If you are using Claude Code, use one of these lightweight options:

**Option A — shell environment**

Export the API key before running the skill:

```bash
export SKYWORK_API_KEY="your_actual_skywork_api_key_here"
```

To persist it across sessions, add the same line to `~/.zshrc` or `~/.bashrc`, then reload the shell.

**Option B — Claude Code settings**

Add the variable to `~/.claude/settings.json`:

```json
{
  "env": {
    "SKYWORK_API_KEY": "your_actual_skywork_api_key_here"
  }
}
```

Use the method that best matches how you run Claude Code.

### 4. Verify Configuration

```bash
# Check that the environment variable is available
echo "$SKYWORK_API_KEY"
```

For OpenClaw, you can also validate the config file:

```bash
cat ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json | python3 -m json.tool
```

### 5. Restart OpenClaw

```bash
openclaw gateway restart
```

## Troubleshooting

- Ensure `~/.openclaw/openclaw.json` exists and is valid JSON
- Ensure `SKYWORK_API_KEY` is available in Claude Code through your shell or `~/.claude/settings.json`
- Confirm the API key is active and not expired
- Check Skywork account status, membership, or quota if requests fail with auth or benefit errors
- Restart OpenClaw after configuration changes

**Recommended**: Use the setup method that matches your runtime. OpenClaw should use the OpenClaw config file; Claude Code can use either the shell environment or `~/.claude/settings.json`.

## Description:

Skywork Document generates professional documents in DOCX, PDF, HTML, and Markdown through the Skywork Office Doc API, optionally using uploaded reference files and server-side web search.

This skill is ready for commercial/non-commercial use.

## Publisher:

[gxcun17](https://clawhub.ai/user/gxcun17)

### License/Terms of Use:

MIT-0

## Use Case:

External users and developers use this skill to create structured documents such as reports, proposals, resumes, plans, summaries, and translated or rewritten documents. The skill can generate from a prompt alone or use uploaded reference files as source material.

### Deployment Geography for Use:

Global

## Known Risks and Mitigations:

Risk: Full prompts and selected reference files may be sent to Skywork for remote processing.

Mitigation: Use the skill only with content approved for Skywork processing, and avoid confidential documents unless organizational policy permits it.

Risk: The skill requires a SKYWORK_API_KEY and includes setup guidance that can expose secrets if handled carelessly.

Mitigation: Store the key in a protected secret store or permissioned configuration and avoid printing it in terminal output.

Risk: Generated documents are downloaded locally from a remote service.

Mitigation: Inspect downloaded files before opening them or using them in later workflows.

Risk: Broad auto-use instructions may trigger remote document generation for long structured writing tasks.

Mitigation: Confirm the user's intent and remote-processing acceptability before uploading files or sending detailed prompts.

## Ethical Considerations:

Users should evaluate whether this skill is appropriate for their environment, review any generated or modified files before relying on them, and apply their organization's safety, security, and compliance requirements before deployment.
