# erpclaw

**Full-Stack ERP Controller** for ERPClaw. Company setup, chart of accounts, journal entries, payments, tax, financial reports, customers, sales, suppliers, purchasing, inventory, billing, HR, US payroll, advanced accounting (ASC 606/842, intercompany, consolidation), and 45 optional industry modules. Local-first SQLite, double-entry GL, immutable audit trail.

**Security:** Local-first. Parameterized queries. RBAC (PBKDF2). Immutable GL. Sensitive fields encrypted at the column level. Network access limited to `fetch-exchange-rates` (public API) and user-approved `install-module` from `github.com/avansaber/*`.

**Runtimes:** Runs on OpenClaw (primary). Experimental support for the Hermes Agent runtime via a GitHub tap. Install root is set by the `ERPCLAW_HOME` environment variable; unset/blank defaults to `~/.openclaw/erpclaw` (zero behavior change for OpenClaw).

**ERPClaw runs your whole business from plain English.** Tell it "invoice Wayne
Industries for 10 widgets at $100" and it writes the invoice, posts the
balanced journal entries, and replies with the invoice number. Record a payment,
close the month, pull a P&L by department, run payroll, the assistant you
already use does the work and the books stay audit-grade underneath. No forms to
click through, no screens to learn, no per-seat bill. It is open source, it is
free forever, and it runs on your own machine so your data never leaves it.

The difference from every other "AI" accounting tool is structural: ERPClaw was
built AI-native from the first commit, with the assistant as the primary
interface and the accounting rules as auditable code. That is not a chat sidebar
bolted onto a forms app, and it is not something a legacy product can retrofit.

## Quick start

ERPClaw is one product. You install it once, then describe your business and it
sets itself up.

# ERPClaw OS Pattern Catalog

Reusable patterns extracted from the existing 44-module codebase. Each pattern documents a common business entity type with schema, action, and test templates. Used by `generate_module.py` to map natural-language business descriptions to code templates.

**Source of truth:** `pattern_library.py` defines the machine-readable version. This document is the human-readable reference.

## 1. CRUD Entity

**Description:** The foundational pattern. A persistent business entity with create, read, update, and list operations. No financial posting, no lifecycle transitions beyond active/inactive.

**Source modules:** legalclaw (`legalclaw_client_ext`), healthclaw-vet (`healthclaw_animal_patient`), automotiveclaw (`automotiveclaw_customer_ext`), nonprofitclaw (`nonprofitclaw_donor_ext`)

**When to use:**
- Any entity that needs to be stored and queried (clients, pets, vehicles, properties, employees, locations)
- Master data tables that other records reference
- Extension tables that augment core ERP entities (customer, item, employee)
