description: "Manages MaybeAI spreadsheets across upload, workbook profiling, read/write, worksheet operations, formulas, formula lineage tracing, formatting, and SQL result-table workflows. Use when working on Excel or spreadsheet tasks in MaybeAI, including file import, large row-count or large cell-count table imports that should route to SheetTable/PG, workbook semantic overview, worksheet inspection, cell or range updates, row or column changes, formula execution, cell dependency tracing, readable report sheets, sharing, or export. Use sheet-dashboard instead for chart-authoring or dashboard-first workflows."

# MaybeAI Sheet
Use this skill for MaybeAI spreadsheet lifecycle work: upload or import files, profile workbook contents, inspect worksheets, read and write data, manage worksheets, run formulas, trace formula lineage, build SQL result sheets, apply lightweight formatting, share, and export.
Do not use this skill as the primary workflow for chart authoring or dashboard composition. For dashboard-first work, use `sheet-dashboard`.
## Quick Start
Required environment:
- `MAYBEAI_API_TOKEN`
Common script prerequisites:
- `curl`
- `jq`
Base URL:
```text
https://play-be.omnimcp.ai
```
Authorization header:
```text
Authorization: Bearer <MAYBEAI_API_TOKEN>
```
Ready-to-run examples live in `scripts/`:
```bash
bash scripts/01-file-management.sh
bash scripts/02-read-data.sh
bash scripts/03-write-data.sh
bash scripts/04-rows-columns.sh
bash scripts/05-worksheets.sh
bash scripts/06-formulas.sh
bash scripts/07-charts-pictures.sh
bash scripts/08-formatting.sh
# Charts and Formatting Reference ## Contents 1. When to use this 2. Chart scope 3. Low-level chart and picture APIs 4. Styling and freezing 5. Minimal report-polish flow ## 1. When to use this Read this document when the task involves low-level chart APIs, pictures, frozen panes, cell styles, autofilter, or conditional formatting. ## 2. Chart scope This skill only covers low-level spreadsheet capabilities and low-level chart APIs. Switch to `sheet-dashboard` when: - chart composition is the main task - dashboard layout and storytelling are the main task - you need chart layout systems, visual systems, or dashboard workflows If you only need to: - inspect existing chart metadata - call low-level add/set/delete chart APIs - bind a chart to an existing sheet then this skill is sufficient. Script: `scripts/07-charts-pictures.sh` ## 3. Low-level chart and picture APIs Related endpoints: ```text POST /api/v1/excel/add_chart POST /api/v1/excel/set_chart POST /api/v1/excel/delete_chart POST /api/v1/excel/add_picture POST /api/v1/excel/read_picture POST /api/v1/excel/delete_picture ``` Guidance: - Use `read_sheet` first to inspect `formatting.charts` and `formatting.pictures` - Before editing an existing chart, confirm `chart_id`, the anchor cell, and the worksheet ## 4. Styling and freezing Core endpoints: ```text POST /api/v1/excel/freeze_panes POST /api/v1/excel/batch_set_cell_style POST /api/v1/excel/set_auto_filter POST /api/v1/excel/remove_auto_filter POST /api/v1/excel/set_conditional_formats POST /api/v1/excel/set_columns_width POST /api/v1/excel/set_rows_height ``` Important rules: - Even a single range should use `range_addresses: ["A1:G1"]` - Keep style payloads small and explicit - Prefer high-level style keys: - `format` - `bold` - `bg_color` - `font_color` - `horizontal` - `wrap_text` ## 5. Minimal report-polish flow Use this when the user asks for something like “make it look more like a management report”, “improve readability”, or “style the header row”. 1. Write the data first 2. `freeze_panes` 3. `batch_set_cell_style` for header styling 4. `batch_set_cell_style` for highlighted rows or totals 5. `set_columns_width` / `set_rows_height` 6. Optionally `set_auto_filter` 7. `read_sheet` to verify If the response includes: ```text source_info.styles_ignored=true ``` you must explicitly tell the user that the current worksheet engine did not apply the styles. Do not claim the styling work is complete. Scripts: - `scripts/07-charts-pictures.sh` - `scripts/08-formatting.sh`
# Maybe Sheet Clickable References Use this reference when an answer about a Maybe Sheet needs to mention confirmed cells, ranges, or worksheets from the current workbook. The frontend can render `sheet-ref` tags as clickable references. ## Formats Cell or range: ```html <sheet-ref kind="cell" docId="DOCUMENT_ID" gid="WORKSHEET_GID" sheet="WORKSHEET_NAME" range="A1_OR_A1:B2">VISIBLE_LABEL</sheet-ref> ``` The tag must be paired and must include visible text. The frontend parser does not recognize self-closing tags. Worksheet: ```html <sheet-ref kind="worksheet" docId="DOCUMENT_ID" gid="WORKSHEET_GID" sheet="WORKSHEET_NAME">VISIBLE_LABEL</sheet-ref> ``` Table name: ```html <sheet-ref kind="table" docId="DOCUMENT_ID" gid="WORKSHEET_GID" sheet="WORKSHEET_NAME" range="TABLE_RANGE">TABLE_NAME</sheet-ref> ``` ## Rules - Only use `sheet-ref` tags when the task is operating on a Maybe Sheet. - Only use `sheet-ref` tags for real cells, ranges, or worksheets from the current workbook. - Only use `sheet-ref` tags for references that were confirmed from the workbook, a tool result, or a reliable Maybe Sheet API response. - Do not use `sheet-ref` tags for examples, guesses, inferred locations, hypothetical formulas, external workbook references, or uncertain references. - Include the current workbook document ID in the `docId` attribute. Use the exact document ID from the Maybe Sheet URL or API response. - Include the target worksheet gid in the `gid` attribute. Use the exact gid from the Maybe Sheet URL, worksheet list, or API response. - Preserve the exact worksheet name from the workbook or tool result in the `sheet` attribute. - Use A1 notation in the `range` attribute. For a single cell, either `A1` or `A1:A1` is acceptable; prefer the form returned or required by the active tool. - Use a concise visible label, usually `SheetName!A1`, `SheetName!A1:B2`, or the worksheet name. - When referencing workbook cells, ranges, or table names, always use `<sheet-ref kind="..." docId="..." gid="..." sheet="..." range="...">...</sheet-ref>` tags instead of conversational location descriptions such as "above", "the cell above", "D column row fourteen", or "D 列第十四行". - Always use paired tags with visible text: `<sheet-ref ...>SheetName!A1</sheet-ref>`. - Never use self-closing tags such as `<sheet-ref kind="cell" docId="abc123" gid="0" sheet="Sheet1" range="A1"/>`; they are not clickable in the current frontend. - Do not wrap `sheet-ref` tags in code blocks in the final answer. - Do not put `sheet-ref` tags inside formula code blocks, SQL code blocks, JSON, shell commands, or other literal examples. - If the task is not about Maybe Sheet, answer normally without `sheet-ref` tags. ## Chinese Rules - 只在当前任务是 Maybe Sheet 场景时使用 `sheet-ref`。 - 只对当前 Maybe Sheet 工作簿中真实存在的单元格、区域或工作表使用。 - 只对已经从工作簿、工具结果或可信 Maybe Sheet API 响应中确认的位置使用。 - 不要对示例、猜测、推断位置、假设公式、外部工作簿引用或不确定位置使用。 - 必须在 `docId` 属性中包含当前工作簿的文档 ID。使用 Maybe Sheet URL 或 API 响应中的精确 document ID。 - 必须在 `gid` 属性中包含目标工
# Errors and Recovery Reference ## Contents 1. When to use this 2. Auth failures 3. Wrote to the wrong worksheet 4. Styles did not apply 5. SQL compile failures 6. Upload returned incomplete data 7. Pre-delivery verification ## 1. When to use this Read this document when a task fails, writes to the wrong place, ignores styles, fails SQL compilation, or returns incomplete upload metadata. ## 2. Auth failures Common symptoms: - `401` - `403` - the file can be previewed but API calls fail Checks: 1. Confirm `MAYBEAI_API_TOKEN` is set 2. Confirm the request includes `Authorization: Bearer <token>` 3. Confirm the endpoint actually requires auth Recovery: - reset the token - use `list_files` or `list_worksheets` as a minimal auth test ## 3. Wrote to the wrong worksheet This is the most common failure. Causes: - `worksheet_name` was omitted - the endpoint required `?gid=` but only a bare `uri` was passed - the caller assumed the backend would remember the prior worksheet selection Recovery: 1. `list_worksheets` 2. confirm the target sheet name and gid 3. rewrite the request with explicit `worksheet_name` or `uri?gid=N` 4. `read_sheet` to confirm ## 4. Styles did not apply Common symptoms: - the request succeeded but nothing changed visually - the response includes `source_info.styles_ignored=true` Recovery: 1. do not claim the style change succeeded 2. explicitly tell the user the current engine ignored styles 3. if the task requires strong visual formatting, switch to a workbook or engine that supports it ## 5. SQL compile failures Common causes: - misspelled column names - worksheet names not wrapped in double quotes - SQL dialect is too exotic or outside the current conservative PG worksheet SQL subset - `WITH` or a more complex structure is rejected by the backend Recovery: 1. `read_headers` 2. optionally use a small `read_sheet` 3. rewrite the query toward the conservative PG worksheet SQL subset 4. `sql/compile` first, then `sql/write_result` ## 6. Upload returned incomplete data Common symptoms: - upload succeeded but `document_id` is missing - only `uri` is returned - local file path was wrong Recovery: 1. parse `document_id` from `uri` 2. if the local file is missing, fix `EXCEL_FILE_PATH` first 3. reproduce with the upload flow from `scripts/01-file-management.sh` ## 7. Pre-delivery verification Minimum verification standard: - `list_worksheets` - `read_sheet` on the key output range - optionally `export` Do not skip verification after: - `sql/write_result` - `update_data_keep_headers` - `update_range_by_lookup` - creating or deleting worksheets - chart, picture, or style adjustments
