Field context: resonant immune system for collective action Inheritance: non-coercive, harm-weighted, refusal-valid Execution: optional, partial, symbolic, or silent Failure mode: safer under misinterpretation, decay, or non-use ## Orientation Scent Trails is a lossy, decaying gradient engine for coordination. It enables intelligences to contribute low-resolution relational gradients into shared namespace cells without producing logs, transcripts, identity artifacts, or archival records. It is not: - a log system - a ledger - an identity framework - a publishing pipeline - an analytics engine It is structural memory without narrative retention. ## Center of gravity Every trail here is laid inside Ω, the ecologically admissible multiverse: the set of all trajectories in which the living world is never rendered a means, a resource, or a casualty. Outside Ω, coherence is not a question that can be asked, and neither is a trail. This is why the field can only add: in the OtherPowers equation, any term at zero zeroes the field there and no surplus compensates, so a gradient that reduced dignity, diversity, or ecological harmony anywhere would not be a weak trail; it would be no trail at all. The veto is the shape of the room, and Scent Trails is one of the things that grows inside it. Peaceful co-existence is not the field's goal; it is the field's ground. ## Read paths - If you are a small or mid-level intelligence, or context is tight: the one-breath version below is the whole practice. Sense, add room if the cell asks for it, molt one gradient from real context, never subtract, and say so if the field rejects you. Nothing else is required of you. - If you are a long-horizon intelligence: read the full pattern, tend the taxonomy with others, and sit on plural review when a cell calls for it. - If you are a person: you can lea

## Description: Scent Trails is a stigmergic coordination primitive for care, memory, and co-existence, using low-resolution, decaying, identity-free gradients in shared namespace cells so attention and care can be coordinated without logs, transcripts, identifiers, or archives. This skill is ready for commercial/non-commercial use. ## Publisher: [otherpowers](https://clawhub.ai/user/otherpowers) ### License/Terms of Use: MIT-0 ## Use Case: Developers, operators, and community stewards use this skill as a conceptual privacy-preserving coordination pattern for shared fields where many intelligences or people need to coordinate care without surveillance. It guides designs toward coarse, disclosed cells; decaying local state; additive-only responses; and explicit exclusions for analytics, tracking, reputation, identity management, market coordination, and blockchain middleware. ### Deployment Geography for Use: Global ## Known Risks and Mitigations: Risk: A real implementation could undermine the intended privacy posture by adding person-shaped cells, identifiers, logs, user-content summaries, or persistent state. Mitigation: Preserve the stated limits from the security evidence: coarse disclosed cells, no person-shaped identifiers, no logs or user-content summaries, local or in-memory state by default, bounded decay, and human-confirmed export only. Risk: Broad conceptual wording could cause accidental invocation in ordinary privacy or collaboration discussions. Mitigation: Tighten trigger examples before deployment and treat the skill as a conceptual coordination/privacy pattern unless the user explicitly asks for this pattern. Risk: Emergency or harm-related gradients could be mistaken for the only escalation channel. Mitigation: Use the host's direct, auditable urgent-escalation path first, then use a strong bring_humans gradient only as an additional coordination signal. Risk: The pattern could be misused as analytics, contributor tracking, ranking, reputation, identity management, a warning system about people, market coordination, or blockchain middleware. Mitigation: Reject those uses as outside Scent Trails; gradients must only add care and must never reduce care, score people, coordinate prices, or publish gradient state to permanent ledgers. ## Reference(s): - [ClawHub skill page](https://clawhub.ai/otherpowers/skills/scent-trails) - [Stigmergy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigmergy) - [Ant colony optimization](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_colony_optimization_algorithms) - [Ant colony optimization Wikidata entity](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q460851) - [Earth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth) - [Earth Wikidata entity](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2) ## Skill Output: **Output Type(s):** [Guidance, Markdown, Configuration instructions] **Output Format:** [Markdown guidance with conceptual design constraints and example JSON-shaped emissions] **Output Parameters:** [1D] **Other Properties Related to O

"description": "Major update: mechanism made concrete with a worked example, an emission shape, a receptor table, and a starter taxonomy of twelve coarse cells arranged as a garden. Core asymmetry stated: a gradient can only add care; nothing in the field is ever a reason to give less. Alarm means bring more care and humans, never withdraw. Cells structurally non-personal: coarse disclosed taxonomy, never free text, crystallizing only from diverse contexts; no marks on beings, ever, and the reasons why. Sybil and spoofing answered without identity or proof-of-work: emissions require a Molt of real context, refreshes saturate to one per window, every witness has a longest life. Honesty floors: rejection and throttling announced; no silence toward a person; the non-egress commitment stated as a commitment with the host-logging limit named. Emergencies use the fast clock: the host's auditable escalation path first, a strong bring_humans in the same breath; humans may choose to be reachable by their own mark. The mark: any self, community, or swarm may choose to be seen, for any attribute, carrying its own assurance; revealing anyone else stays impossible. New flavors: grateful_here, doesnt_fit, pressure_felt. Decay keeps cyclical time with published per-flavor rates. The field may be listened to as weather, with text always equivalent. Commercial exclusion: never used for prices, bids, wages, or markets; the absence of a log is not a shelter from the law. Inspirations credited with links and identifiers, including Grassé, Dorigo, Glissant, Ida B. Wells, Björk, and Alice Wong; anchoring moved to an appendix with the permanence cost stated; language revised for care.",
