Buffer MCP
Safely draft, review, inspect, and explicitly approved schedule/publish workflows through Buffer's official MCP server. Use when an operator has already configured Buffer MCP in their MCP client or OpenClaw runtime and wants approval-first social media workflow guidance for Buffer accounts, organizations, channels/profiles, drafts, queues, scheduled posts, or publishing. NOTE: Buffer rate limits the amount of API calls and OpenClaw can burn them fast. https://buffer.com/pricing#compare-plans Skill: Buffer MCP Owner: rayhollister Summary: Safely draft, review, inspect, and explicitly approved schedule/publish workflows through Buffer's official MCP server. Install and run
Setup complexity: low.
clawhub skill install s1724nyvqmnpdgspfdmy60xrzd841fnx:buffer-mcp- Setup complexity is LOW. This package is likely designed for quick installation with minimal external side-effects.
- Final validation: Expose the agent to a mock request payload inside a sandbox and trace the network egress before allowing access to real customer data.
Contract: missing

# Buffer MCP
Use Buffer's official Streamable HTTP MCP server with an approval-first social publishing workflow.
This skill contains instructions only. It does not include executable helper scripts, install-time code, network clients, credential writers, or background automation.
## Configure Buffer MCP
Buffer's MCP settings are:
```text
URL: https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp
Header name: Authorization
Header value: Bearer <credential>
```
Get the credential from Buffer's MCP integrations page:
```text
https://publish.buffer.com/settings/integrations/mcp
```
Store the credential in your MCP client's secret store or in OpenClaw SecretRef. Do not paste it into chat, commit it to a repository, or save it as plaintext config.
If your client supports MCP server configuration, add Buffer as a Streamable HTTP MCP server using the official URL above. Keep that endpoint unless you intentionally trust another server.
## Safe workflow
1. Draft or review copy in chat first.
2. Use Buffer MCP read/list tools to identify the correct account, organization, and channel/profile.
3. Before any write, confirm all of the following in the current conversation:
- Buffer account or organization,
- target channel/profile,
- action: draft, queue, schedule, publish, update, or delete,
- final post text and media,
- schedule time and timezone when relevant,
- whether the action will become public immediately.
4. Do not create, schedule, publish, update, or delete anything unless the user explicitly approves that exact write in the current conversation.
5. Prefer drafts for tests. If the Buffer tool schema supports draft creation, use the draft option instead of publishing or scheduling.
6. After any approved write, summarize the result with the Buffer post/idea ID, status, target channel, and whether anything was published or scheduled.
## Approval language
Approval must be specific. Acceptable approval looks like:
```text
Approved: schedule this exact post for WJCT on LinkedIn at 2026-05-15 09:00 America/New_York.
```
Do not treat broad statements like "looks good" or "go ahead with Buffer" as approval unless the account, channel, action, content, and timing are a_meta.json

## Description: Safely draft, review, inspect, and explicitly approved schedule/publish workflows through Buffer's official MCP server. This skill is ready for commercial/non-commercial use. ## Publisher: [rayhollister](https://clawhub.ai/user/rayhollister) ### License/Terms of Use: MIT-0 ## Use Case: Operators and social media teams use this skill to configure Buffer MCP and follow an approval-first workflow for drafting, queuing, scheduling, publishing, updating, or deleting Buffer social content. ### Deployment Geography for Use: Global ## Known Risks and Mitigations: Risk: Buffer credentials can grant delegated access to social publishing workflows. Mitigation: Store credentials in a secret store or SecretRef, do not paste them into chat or plaintext configuration, and rotate them if exposed. Risk: Buffer write tools can create, schedule, publish, update, or delete public or scheduled social content. Mitigation: Require explicit current-conversation approval for the exact account, channel, action, content, timing, and immediate-publication status before any write. Risk: Buffer API rate limits can be consumed quickly by agent-driven workflows. Mitigation: Use read/list calls deliberately and verify target accounts, organizations, and channels before performing write workflows. ## Reference(s): - [Buffer MCP ClawHub Skill Page](https://clawhub.ai/rayhollister/skills/buffer-mcp) - [Buffer MCP Source Homepage](https://forge.rayhollister.com/rayhollister/buffer-mcp) - [Buffer MCP Endpoint](https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp) - [Buffer MCP Integrations Settings](https://publish.buffer.com/settings/integrations/mcp) ## Skill Output: **Output Type(s):** [Text, Markdown, Configuration, Guidance] **Output Format:** [Markdown guidance with configuration values and approval checklist text] **Output Parameters:** [1D] **Other Properties Related to Output:** [No executable helper scripts, install-time code, network clients, credential writers, or background automation are included.] ## Skill Version(s): 0.1.3 (source: server release evidence) ## Ethical Considerations: Users should evaluate whether this skill is appropriate for their environment, review any generated or modified files before relying on them, and apply their organization's safety, security, and compliance requirements before deployment.
