Setup snapshot

git clone https://github.com/clyde-yoonjae/agentation-design-feadback.git
  1. 1

Setup complexity is LOW. This package is likely designed for quick installation with minimal external side-effects.

  2. 2

Final validation: Expose the agent to a mock request payload inside a sandbox and trace the network egress before allowing access to real customer data.

name: agentation-design-feedback description: | Process Agentation visual feedback toolbar data and apply design modifications to frontend code. Use when receiving structured feedback data containing element locations (CSS selectors), Tailwind classes, positions, and user feedback comments. Handles design updates based on user-annotated UI elements from the Agentation feedback system.

Triggers:

  • Feedback data with "Page Feedback:" header containing numbered elements
  • Data including Location, Classes, Position, Context, and Feedback fields
  • User requests to modify UI based on Agentation annotations
  • Design change requests referencing specific UI elements with CSS selectors

Agentation Design Feedback Processor

Process structured feedback from the Agentation visual feedback toolbar and apply design modifications.

Input Data Format

Expect feedback in this structure:

## Page Feedback: /<page-path>
**Viewport:** <width>×<height>

### <number>. <element-type> "<element-text>"
**Location:** <CSS selector path>
**Classes:** <comma-separated Tailwind classes>
**Position:** <x>px, <y>px (<width>×<height>px)
**Context:** <element content>
**Feedback:** <user's modification request>

Processing Workflow

1. Identify Target Elements

Parse the feedback data to extract:

  • Element selector from Location field
  • Current Tailwind classes from Classes field
  • User's requested change from Feedback field

2. Locate Source Files

Use the CSS selector path to find the corresponding component:

  • .relative > .mt-12 > .inline-flex suggests nested component structure
  • Search codebase for matching class combinations
  • Verify by checking if element text matches Context field

3. Handle Ambiguous Targets

CRITICAL: When multiple elements share identical or similar feedback data:

  • Compare Location, Classes, and Position fields
  • If duplicates exist (same selector, same position), ask user which specific element to modify
  • Example question: "I found 2 identical 'link' elements at the same position. Should I modify both, or do you want to specify which one?"

4. Assess Side Effects

CRITICAL: Before modifying shared styles:

  • Check if the class being modified is used elsewhere
  • If modification affects other elements, ask user for confirmation
  • Example: "Changing .mx-auto padding will affect 3 other sections. Proceed?"

Modification Guidelines

Responsive Design Preservation

When classes include breakpoint prefixes (sm:, md:, lg:, xl:, 2xl:):

  • Preserve existing responsive behavior
  • Apply changes at appropriate breakpoints
  • If user doesn't specify breakpoint, apply to base and ask if responsive variants need updating

Example - Original:

px-4 sm:px-6 lg:px-8

If user requests "increase padding", ask:

  • "Should I increase padding at all breakpoints, or only specific ones?"

Dark Mode Support

When classes include dark: prefix:

  • Maintain dark mode variants when modifying light mode styles
  • If adding new styles, consider adding corresponding dark: variants
  • Ask user if dark mode should mirror the change

Example - Original:

bg-brand-600 dark:bg-brand-500

If user requests "change background to blue":

  • Apply bg-blue-600 for light mode
  • Ask: "Should dark mode also change to blue (e.g., dark:bg-blue-500)?"

Component Extraction Suggestion

When detecting repeated style modifications:

  • Track if similar changes are requested across multiple elements
  • After 2+ similar modifications, suggest extracting to a shared component
  • Example: "I've applied similar button styles to 3 elements. Want me to extract this as a reusable Button component?"

Output Requirements

After applying modifications:

  1. Show the specific file and line changed
  2. Display before/after class comparison
  3. Note any responsive or dark mode considerations applied
  4. Warn if other elements may be affected

Example Interaction

Input:

### 1. link "Submit"
**Location:** .form-container > .actions > .btn-primary
**Classes:** bg-blue-500 hover:bg-blue-600 dark:bg-blue-400 px-4 py-2
**Feedback:** make it green

Processing:

  1. Find component with .btn-primary class containing "Submit" text
  2. Identify color classes: bg-blue-500, hover:bg-blue-600, dark:bg-blue-400
  3. Replace with green equivalents: bg-green-500, hover:bg-green-600, dark:bg-green-400
  4. Preserve non-color classes: px-4 py-2

Ask if unclear:

  • "Should the hover state also be green?"
  • "Should dark mode use the same green shade?"
