A multi-agent CrewAI project that researches a topic and writes a markdown news-style article using a sequential research-to-writing workflow.

Overview

This project creates a two-agent pipeline:

  • Senior Researcher agent gathers current information and trends.
  • Writer agent converts research into an easy-to-read article.

The crew executes tasks in sequence and generates a markdown output file.

How It Works

  1. Environment variables are loaded from .env.
  2. A web-search tool is initialized in tools.py.

  6. crew.kickoff runs with input topic: AI in healthcare.

Installation

1. Clone repository

2. Create virtual environment

Windows PowerShell:

python -m venv .venv
.\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1

macOS/Linux:

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate

3. Install dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

If missing module errors appear, install these explicitly:

pip install crewai-tools langchain-google-genai

Environment Variables

Create a .env file in the project root:

GOOGLE_API_KEY=your_google_api_key
SERPER_API_KEY=your_serper_api_key

Run

python crew.py

Expected behavior:

  • Prints execution logs to terminal
  • Executes research and writing tasks in order
  • Generates new-blog-post.md in project root

Customization

  • Change topic input in crew.py:
